Karla Calderon is an accountant by trade but an entrepreneur at heart. As a first generation immigrant from Ecuador, Karla was the first person in her family to attend college and complete a university degree. Her education and dedication to hard work inspired her to support other entrepreneurs: Karla is passionate about helping small business owners access the financial resources needed for success. Brownie points if they are women-owned!
Karla is an IRS-enrolled agent and has an extensive background in private equity fund management and auditing. In 2016, she founded Ten Accounting and has spent the last 10 years helping emerging companies scale their accounting and finance functions. She focuses on strengthening the integrity of accounting systems, processes, and structures to help her clients to meet their operational objectives and strategic potential.
In addition to her work at Ten, Karla is part of the teams at Rallyday Partners, a private equity firm; and Credo, a network connecting businesses to marketing agencies.
Phillip Calderon is an entrepreneurially-focused leader with over a decade of experience-focused overseeing digital transformations. He’s worked extensively with companies like JP Morgan Chase, HP – Aruba, and Bacardi.
As a certified Executive/Business Coach, Phillip brings a strategic customer experience mind to Ten Accounting through his background in project leadership, operational consulting, and customer success. He has a unique ability to see his clients’ big financial picture – where they are now, where they’re going, and how to get there. He helps explain the story the numbers are telling, all while giving actionable business advice.
In addition to his role at Ten, Phillip has recently taken on an interim COO role at Intueat, a private and personal chef platform in Denver, and is the founder of Best Forward LLC, his operations consulting business. Phillip is a competitive athlete and was a Division 1 soccer player at Southern Methodist University. He has visited over 20 countries with his wife, Karla.
Accounting Advisor
Diana Bistran brings over twelve years of experience, during which she has developed valuable accounting skills, gained extensive knowledge of business operations, and deepened her insights into common roadblocks entrepreneurs often face on the path to success.
Today, Diana leverages her expertise to propel entrepreneurs and small business owners to new financial heights. Her goal is to create a plan that aligns with your lifestyle, integrates seamlessly with your business operations, and accelerates your journey to achieving your goals.
Ferdinand Halil is Ten Accounting’s accounting specialist. Born in the Philippines, Ferdinand obtained his CPA licensure and quickly joined an Ernst & Young member practice – SGV, the Philippines’ largest financial services firm.
In his time at SGV, Ferdinand rose to the position of senior auditor, acquiring extensive knowledge in auditing and accounting procedures. He gained experience in a variety of industries, including tech, retailing, manufacturing, real estate, telecommunications, tourism and travel services, and nonprofit institutions.
His experience working within a variety of industries has allowed him to easily navigate the accounting space. He has a keen eye for detail, giving his clients sound advice for careful planning to fulfill their long-term and short-term goals.
